Geoff Ogilvy suggests that before Tiger Woods returns to golf, that he address the media away from the golf course. This would be to keep the tabloid media circus away from the other players.
“I think he should come out away from the golf course. I think that would be the best thing for him and for every other player and for the tournament. I don’t believe a lot of tournaments want all the tabloid media floating around.”
“The first press conference he does is going to be the crazy one, isn’t it? A lot people who have been afraid to ask questions for the past 10 or 12 years won’t be quite as hesitant to ask questions as they used to be. And he’s going to have to answer questions.”
Good luck with that.
John Daly will be hosting Sports Soup on Versus tonight. He’ll be commenting on Tiger Woods.
I know there are many critics of The Golf Channel. I’ve been one. They’re the best golf television channel out there, and the worst. They’re the only one so they lay claim to both awards.
Many people, myself included, have complained about the “all Tiger all the time TGC coverage.” I’d wondered if that would change now that Tiger is on indefinite leave.
So last night I tune in. I watch Stewart Cink sink a putt. Then they cut to the TGC talking heads, who then talk about Tiger for the next several minutes. Haha. My first time watching TGC this year, and the first three minutes contain five seconds of actual golf and 2:55 of Tiger. Random luck perhaps…
I thought I’d done my last post of 2009 but there’s new news in the Tiger Woods situation.
AT&T has dropped Tiger Woods. The AT&T logo will no longer be on Tiger’s bag. Furthermore, Tiger won’t be hosting the AT&T National PGA Tour event, an event he has hosted since 2007.
AT&T has also been the primary sponsor of the Tiger Jam concert event in Las Vegas, but that contract has now expired. I doubt they’ll renew.
People Magazine and some other “sources” are reporting that Tiger Woods’ yacht “Privacy” has left port from North Palm Beach and is headed for the Bahamas after being loaded with supplies from Costco.
Hello? Did anyone read my post back on December 11th? Back then I predicted a trip to Tiger Woods’ house in the Bahamas.
And Costco? Damn. I wish they would have told me so I could ask them to pick me up a five pound block of Feta cheese, a one gallon jar of Kalamata olives and a container of 24 rolls of toilet paper. I just hope for their sake they didn’t buy any Kirkland organic peanut butter. That stuff sucks!
