I have to give credit to writer Steve Elling for tweeting a great quote “Abandoned Dunes” in commenting about the termination of construction of Tiger Woods’ signature golf course in Dubai….
Abandoned Dunes
Due to being hit by the economic recession, the developers of the $1 billion Tiger Woods course and real estate venture have put further construction on hold. The few holes of golf course which are completed will no longer be watered and may soon “return to sand.”
The development was slated to feature over 30,000 imported trees, a high end hotel, a golf school, 22 palaces, 75 mansions and 100 villas.

I created a Twitter list which only shows Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter so you can follow along as Ian and Lee give Tiger some grief and ask him to join in the banter.

Here’s your chance to ask Tiger Woods a question. Five minutes ago Tiger mentioned that he was on his way to Torrey Pines and was going to answer some questions on Twitter.
I sent in a question. Why not? We’ll see if I get an answer.
Ian Poulter is giving Tiger a bunch of grief on there, asking him to join in the funny banter between himself, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy and the other super golf tweeters.
I wonder if Tiger will take the bait?
I created a Twitter list containing Poulter, Westwood and Tiger so you can follow just their conversation: http://bit.ly/eCz0a9
After winning in Abu Dhabi at the HSBC Championship, Martin Kaymer leapfrogged Tiger Woods to #2 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Tiger officially drops to #3.
Kaymer lapped the field by eight shots at -24. The closest competitor was Rory McIlroy at -16. Rounding out the top four were Retief Goosen and Graeme McDowell. That is a heck of a top four. The PGA Tour doesn’t have that kind of firepower playing this week.
World Golf Ranking Needs Tweaking?
I’ve posted this before and I’ll post it again. I still find it amazing that Tiger hasn’t won a tournament since 2009 and he’s still ranked in the top five. And before you comment, yes I know he built up a huge lead in the points…
