Who missed and who made the cut at this year’s PLAYERS Championship? I’ve posted the Friday leader board below.
Some interesting names MISSED the cut like Tiger Woods (ok a WD), Padraig Harrington, Anthony Kim, former TPC winner Adam Scott, Gary Woodland, Y.E. Yang, Camilo Villegas, Ernie Els and Rickie Fowler.

For you Tiger Woods fans, or people who just want to harass him, he’s answering questions on Twitter right now.
He doesn’t quite have the hang of how Twitter works obviously. He’s retweeting questions but not answering some of them.
I asked a question. If he posts an answer I’ll let you know. #doubtit
Tiger Woods announced today that he’ll miss the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tournament is scheduled for May 5-8.
Woods injured his left knee hitting that tough shot from the pine straw under the Eisenhower Pine at the Masters a few weeks ago.
“I personally contacted tournament officials and expressed my regret in not being able to play. This is an outstanding event, but I must follow doctors’ orders to get better.” ~Tiger Woods
The injuries include a grade 1 mild medial collateral ligament sprain in the left knee and a mild strain the left Achilles tendon. Woods will rest the injuries, undergo cold water therapy and soft tissue treatment. There is no definite date scheduled for Tiger’s return, quoted to be in “a few weeks.”
I’m in HOG world headquarters with my 3rd cup o’ Joe, Masters flags on the walls and a picture of Bobby Jones above me. I’m ready to post my (perhaps) final thoughts on the 2011 Masters. My big toe hurts, from nearly cutting it off five minutes before the final round TV coverage started. I’ve actually got golfer’s elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome in my left wrist from all of the blogging, tweeting, facebooking and high fives the last four days.
Charl Schwartzel, tears in his eyes, Masters champion
I’ll admit I knew next to nothing about Charl Schwartzel before this year’s Masters. In fact, about the only few things I know now is that he’s from South Africa, he has nerves of steel and is the 2011 Masters champion.
I was sure his lack of experience in this tournament would lead to him gagging in the last few holes. Boy was I wrong. He amazingly lit up the final nine, performing what will forever be referred to as a “Schwartzel” in my golf group: making birdie on the last four holes.
Many HOG congratulations to Charl, whose life will never be the same. Welcome to the most exclusive club in golf.
Below is the final leader board for the 2011 Masters, with Charl Schwartzel’s name in slot #1. Well done Charl!
