The day’s play is over for the Thursday edition of the 2011 Masters. What a day it was. The theme of the day is low scoring with an emphasis on international players. Only 8 out of the top 23 (up to T14) players are from the USA.

What a day so far. Rory McIlroy dropped a 65 on Augusta National, and didn’t get as much out of that round as he could have. With better putting he could have posted a low 60’s round.
Phil Mickelson started out with 7 pars in a row and birdied #8, sitting at -1 on #9 tee. Despite previous announcements, Phil did NOT go with two drivers.
HOG World Headquarters is still under construction, but here’s a shot of the current state it is in for pre-tv coverage of the Thursday Masters round. What you don’t see is the 42″ plasma short right.
Players are starting to finish their early rounds now.
Ross fisher is done, posting a 69. Last time he opened at -3 in the Masters he finished T30.
Sean O’Hair is also in the clubhouse with a score of -2 after making birdie on 15 and 18 to finish.
Retief Goosen is at -5 through 10 holes.
