Thanks to Old Trapper for sending in some of their Old Fashioned beef jerky for review. I made great use of my bag of old fashioned in several environments: The golf course, mountain biking, skiing, and on a road trip. It saved me on that road trip. Long day of driving and needed some calories and protein!

Quality

Recently I picked up some jerky from Costco. Can’t remember the brand. It tasted fine but there was a super high amount of gristle. Not much more annoying and gross than chewing on un-chewable material, then having to find some way of politely discarding it.

I was very satisfied with the quality of the Old Fashioned, especially in terms of it NOT having gristle. I mean zero. Fantastic.

Taste

This jerky is very tasty, but not too salty. Many jerky brands seem to to overboard on the salt. I would like to try some of the other flavors, of which there are several. Hot and spicy would probably be the ticket.

Gift Idea

Christmas is almost here. Forget candy. Throw some Old Trapper in your loved one’s stockings!
