I was sad to see Nickent Golf go under a while ago. I still have a Nickent hybrid in my bag, though it is currently on probation for some bad shots last Tuesday. I have two other Nickent hybrids laying around somewhere and a Pipe Putter.
Wait a sec. I gave the 23 degree to my dad. So I have two. My dad is deadly with that 23 degree. It has really helped his game.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has bought the Nickent brand, I’m sure for pennies on the dollar. But it will be nice to hopefully see that R&D and intellectual property going to some good use.
Nickent Golf has a new URL. They were at www.nickentgolf.com but now they’re at www.nickentgolf.net. Change your bookmarks!
This is a bit odd
“Dot net” domains can be used for anything, fine. But typically they’re for companies who provide internet services. A “dot com” is much more popular than a “dot net.”
This makes me wonder really. If the core name is the same and they’re just changing from a dot com to a dot net, what transpired to make them change? Did they forget to renew the dot com domain or did someone else own it? Did they have a difference of opinion with a web developer and the developer owned the domain? Strange stuff.
