In for review here at Hooked On Golf Blog is a very classy and finely packaged DVD box set from Gary Player called “A Game for Life.” With years of work in the CD/DVD manufacturing work under my belt, I’m very impressed with the layout and design of this set.
I’m excited to check out this golf instructional DVD set as it claims to approach improving one’s golf game in a different and unique way.
Stay tuned for my review coming soon. I’m most anxious to see what Mr. Player’s short game instruction is. I need it… bad.

Hooked On Golf Blog Gary Player Interview
What an honor it was last week to spend a few minutes interviewing Mr. Fitness, golf legend Gary Player. Interviewing the Black Knight is certainly one of the best highlights in the history of this modest golf blog.
In the interview below I discuss fitness with the 9-time major champion and member of the “Big Three,” the other two of course being Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.
Enjoy…
I did not sleep last night because I was so excited for this morning. I’m happy to report that I interviewed The Black Knight, Mr. Fitness, The International Ambassador of Golf, 9-time major champion Gary Player. What a thrill!
Mr. Player is on site this week in La Quinta, California at the PGA Tour’s Humana Challenge, the “Healthiest Event in America.” For years Player has been an advocate of fitness and now he’s joined forces with Humana to promote fitness and healthy eating even more.
Of course we discussed fitness in the interview, as that’s the focus of the event this week. I had so many other questions I would have liked to ask but those will have to wait for the next time. I’ll be getting the interview ready and posting it soon.
Thanks to Mr. Player for taking a break between his situp reps and crunches to speak with me.
Gary Player’s 52nd Masters Tourament is this year. It will be his final appearance. Gary won the Masters (checking my Masters coffee cup) in 1961, 1974 and 1978.
Player:
“I can’t begin to express the fond memories I have of the Masters and everything that comes with it… slipping into the Green Jacket; the Southern hospitality of the patrons; the interviews under the oak tree, the rigorous competition; the Champions Dinner; the roars on Amen Corner; the drive down Magnolia Lane. I’m going to miss walking up the 18th fairway each year, but my time has come to say goodbye as a competitor.”
