I’m a big fan of veterans, and of organizations like Folds of Honor. I’m also a big fan of golf! Here’s a great package from Bushnell Golf which features the new Tour V5 laser rangefinder and an awesome Folds of Honor divot tool, the Tour V5 Patriot Pack.
Description:
Patriot Pack
The Patriot Pack includes newly designed premium carry case, Bushnell Golf/Folds of Honor divot repair tool, CR2 battery.
Quality
I’ve been gaming Bushnell laser rangefinders for years and they’re super accurate. Yardages are delivered quickly and the feature sets are robust.
Magnetic Mount
The side of the unit comes with a powerful magnet which allows the player to mount the laser to a golf cart frame or push cart frame.
Father’s Day
Father’s Day is coming up quick. If you have a father on your list who is also a vet, this would be a fantastic gift. Pricing is around $299 for technology that can be priced above $500.
I’m thrilled to add some new, properly sized rain/weather pants to my now misfit wardrobe. Lose 45-50 pounds and you’ll find none of your clothes fit anymore. Thankfully I’ve got the Galway Bay All-Weather Unlined Pant in for review.
These Pants are made from a breathable stretch fabric that is waterproof and windproof. They’re incredibly comfortable, making these a great choice even when there’s no wind or rain in the forecast. I wore them today in fact. 75 degrees and sunny.
The style of these pants is sharp, clean and classy. They could be worn on the golf course, on the ski slopes, or out on the town.
I’ve got a few more wearings and more testing before writing my final review so stay tuned.
How can today not be awesome? It’s Taco Tuesday AND Cinco de Mayo!
That only happens every 337 years!
In for review is a very interesting looking new wedge called Cutter Wedge CTR-1. This wedge has a unique head design unlike I’ve seen in previously, and I’ve seen more than just about anyone. Check it out.
The purpose of the design is to expand the available surface area to make contact easier and more consistent. In addition it helps cut through varying surface types and conditions.
After looking at this wedge for awhile I realized that the face is symmetrical, unlike other wedges. Some wedges have a high toe, but you’ll see this wedge has the mirroring inside high toe (for lack of better description).
As bad as my short game can be I’m willing to give just about any kind of wedge a shot, so to speak. I get the impression this could be a great option for the sand.
Lofts available are currently 52, 56, and 58 degrees.
The club is available in right and left-handed models. Often new clubs are not available in left-handed so tip of the hat to Cutter for that.
I’m just getting back into swinging after the shoulder surgery and the home course just re-opened following the Covid-19 shutdown. I’ll be getting out and trying some easy swings and chips with the CTR-1 and hopefully posting a full review in a few weeks.
Stay tuned.
Shoulder Report – 14.5 Months Since Surgery
I got a couple of clubs out of the garage today and swung away at the front lawn. Connected with a few dandelions. The backswing is fine. The finish apparently won’t be there. No club head speed. I took about 15-20 swings. Now the shoulder is very sore and angry. It’s going to take a long time to get back.
I tried a few swings with my New Level irons and a few with my Cobra King F8 driver. I was really starting to dial those in back in late 2018.
I remember I had just found the “holy grail” setting on the adjustable driver. I’m sure that’s all changed now.
And who knows about the shafts now. If my swing speed is slower all my shafts might be wrong.
