Unfortunately I was unable to actually watch golf at all this weekend because Comcast still hasn’t gotten my subscriptions working yet. (see this post) Now they say tomorrow. I’m dying over here without my golf TV.
Bary Bryant sneaks up on the rest of the field to win the Memorial. What happened to Tiger, Sluman & Freddie? I told you Sluman wouldn’t keep the lead….
Miguel wins the Welsh Open. The coolest thing about that is that we get to see him hold the trophy with a big fat stogey in his mouth. What a great example eh?
The most dominant golfer in the current era won another tournament. Gee what a surprise. At the ShopRite LPGA Classic she had a 1 shot lead going into the last hole. She eagled it just to remind the field that she was in control. Will someone on the LPGA Tour please step up and challenge Annika? Ochoa tried to challenger her but it was only a verbal challenge which she couldn’t back up.
On the PGA Tour we have the “Big 5.” On the LPGA Tour we have the “Big One.”
As far as I’m concerned Jack can just keep making farewell appearances. It was a privilege for me as a kid and adult to watch him play in the middle to end of his career. I only wish I would have followed golf a little more closely when I was younger.
I got the chance to follow Jack around for 18 holes at a then Senior Tour event in my town. He also played with a couple of other players you may have heard of: Arnold Palmer and Lee Trevino. That was very cool to watch.
Thanks for all the great performances and memories Jack. See you at St. Andrews.
In honor of BogeyMan at Bogey Lounge, I’m going to go off on a “bogey rant.”
If you’ve read my last couple of posts you’d know I’m in a new condo and I’ve gone through the worst hell a person can go through: moving. I was scheduled to have Comcast hook me up today with digital cable and high speed internet. As a subscriber to “other” services, I was looking forward to evaluating Comcast.
As promised, the install guy showed up at 9:30am (while I was hacking my way around a tournament) and installed the proper gear. When I got home at 2:30 my TV was hot but I couldn’t get the high speed internet working.
OK, I’m in my new pad now. Every muscle in my body hurts from moving. My internet and TV are scheduled to be installed tomorrow. I’m able to post because I have found an unsecured wireless connection here. If I sit perfectly at my kitchen table, I get enough signal to surf and check email. I get a better signal when my wife stands on the 3rd tile in on the 5th row of the kitchen floor. I made her stand there for a while 🙂
I have no TV yet, but Jeff Sluman is still leading. Like I said yesterday, that won’t last. Oh and a guy named Tiger is one back. I sure wish I could be watching this instead of reading about it… Yeah yeah I could hook up an antennae but I won’t stoop that low.
Here are some pics from the deck on my new pad. This one is the 17th fairway at River Oaks (their web site is lame):
The tee is to the left. I’ve already shagged two balls on the grass below my place. One Titleist and one “catch & release” ball. I released it back to the middle of the fairway.
This pic is of 17 green:
I’ll be living here for 3-5 months while my new pad is being constructed…
