Are you a hacker? We have poll data determine the answer:
The latest HOGB poll asked the question: What constitutes a hacker?
Here are the results:
5- Above a 24 handicap
51% (23 Votes) 51%
4- Above an 18 handicap
33% (15 Votes) 33%
3- Above a 10 handicap
13% (6 Votes) 13%
2- Above a 5 handicap
2% (1 Votes) 2%
1- Above a 0 handicap
0% (0 Votes) 0%
So 51% say you have to be a 24 or above while an additional 33% say 18 and above. I’d have to disagree. I think anyone who is above a 5 is a hacker.
A total of 84% agree that 18 or above is a hacker.
My kids were asking me what is inside a golf ball tonight. So I took an old Titleist Professional 90 and cut it open.
We found the world’s longest rubber band inside. The ball started crackling like rice crispies and expanding. It then kind of exploded as it unwound, exposing the core. My kids thought I was pretty cool for showing them this.
My kids now refer to a wound ball as “old fashioned.” Their education continues.
TaylorMade’s V-Steel series is the most popular metal wood on tour and the most recommended by the pros at my home course. Can the new r7 Dual TP 3 wood improve on the V-Steel’s reputation? Let’s find out.
The Technology
The r7 Dual TP 3 wood is the first golf club I’ve owned that came with an owner’s manual. To me if a traditional club were to come with a manual it would read: “Swing club, hit ball.” But with TM’s movable weighting system you need the manual to know how to set your ball flight.
The r7 Dual has two movable weights located in the back of the club. These weights are part of what TM calls “TLC” or “TaylorMade Launch Control.” By altering the configuration of these weights the player can set it for varying degrees of draws and fades.
Introducing the 2005 PGA Player Of The Year: Tiger Woods. It’s a lock.
Tiger won his 10th major championship today by taking the Open Championship trophy. Apparently the tweaking he’s been doing with his swing is finally paying off. His balance, tempo and form looked as good as I’ve seen.
The other quite noticeable thing about Tiger was how calm, in control and confident he looked all week.
So he’s now more than half way to Jack’s 18 majors. I’m still not sure he’ll get there. But it will be fun to watch him try.
