I feel special now, and not “special ED” as my kids would say… Tiger’s former coach Hank Haney tweeted with me today, following Tiger’s first round departure at the Accenture Match Play Championship:
Haney
“For all the talk of Tiger’s poor driving the last 6 years I have never seen him drive it out of play with a match or tournament on the line.”
Me
Wasn’t that a 3-metal too, to keep it in play?
Haney
@HOGGOLFBLOG it was a 3 wood but when u hit it 285 it isn’t automatic at all
7:59PM ET
Justin Rose missed a birdie to win the match but Zach Johnson still had to make a par putt from about 10 feet to extend the match to the 18th hole. No go. Justin Rose beats Zack and my final picks total is 22/32.
7:45PM ET
Justin Rose is still 1up, both players are in the fairway at the par-4 17th.
7:29PM ET
The only match left is Zach Johnson vs Justin Rose. My pick is Zach and if he wins I’ll be 23/32.
The match is currently through 15 holes and Justin Rose is 1up. Go Zach!

4.6 weeks ago I separated my shoulder. It has been NO fun at all, especially at the first when I couldn’t even put my own shirt on or take it off. I’ve got most of the pain behind me and I can use my right arm for most things in my daily activity except for a few. There are still a couple of angles that kill if I point my arm in that direction. Drying off in the shower is one. It hurts like hell in the mornings because I think I tweak it in my sleep.
The doc has said it will be 6-8 weeks before I’m ready to hit a golf ball, so I’m getting close. Fortunately the weather here has sucked and I probably wouldn’t have golfed much anyway.
I’m going batty at this point, having not swung a golf club in over a month. Need to hit some balls soon. If the snow melts enough I hope to go practice some putting, and maybe attempt chipping in the hopes it doesn’t hurt too much.
