Can’t wait for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am to end

Can’t wait until Pebble is over so I can go back to watching golf.  I’m so afraid Kenny G will break out his kazoo or George Lopez will break out the billionth non-funny joke after he shanks one into someone’s back yard.

Give me the PGA Tour players and ONLY PGA Tour players please.  It totally sucks to have such a beautiful course as a background for such awful golf. It is like knowing that Cindy Crawford married Fat Bastard or something.  It just isn’t right.

Does anyone on this planet enjoy watching these hacks?

I’m still waiting to hear from ANYONE who enjoys watching these hacks like Chris Berman duff the ball 10 feet.  Where are you?  I’d like to do an interview…

Watching Ben Crenshaw putt never gets old

In the control center here at HOG World Headquarters I’m now watching the Champions Tour for the first time this year.  The Alianz Championship came on right after the Dubai Desert Classic.  The first shot I watched was Ben Crenshaw (recently singed as a Cleveland Golf tour player) making a pure stroke and drain a seven foot birdie putt.

Watching Ben putt never gets old.

Speaking of the Champions Tour

So during the time I was posting this blog, I just watched Olin Brown make an ace on the par-3 8th hole from 176 yards.  These guys are good!  I may have to watch more!

Dubai: Tiger Woods 2nd round 66 – McIlroy still leads

The 2nd round in the Dubai Desert Classic is completed, even though it is being aired right now on Golf Channel.  Tiger Woods improved his position considerably by shooting a 66 today with six birdies and no bogeys.  TW has moved up to a tie for 5th, and has basically won the battle of the big three by shooting a lower score over the first two days than his pairing partners  Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.  Westwood’s tweets are silent right now.

Rory McIlroy is still on top after shooting 68 on day two.  He sits at -11.

2nd place has two players at -10, South African Thomas Aiken and surprisingly Sergio Garcia.  Has Sergio gotten it together now?

Tiger Headlines – The Tiger pun-cheese begins

Here are a few sample Tiger Woods headlines for today…

“Tiger Woods goes from a limp to a swagger with a second-round 66 in Dubai”

“Tiger Woods claws back in Dubai.”

“Tiger Woods fires 66 to roar into Dubai contention.”

“Tiger Woods finds desert form as Rory McIlroy revels in lead.”

“Tiger roars into contention with 66.”

“Tiger hungry for success.”

…Stop me any time.

If you’re going to use social networking for your business, don’t be a bonehead.

Every company thinks they need to use social networking to promote their brand.  OK that is fine.  But if you are going to start a social networking campaign for your company, make sure you have someone do it who knows what they are doing.  Otherwise you may lose more fans than you gain.  Here’s a good example below.

EA Sports Tiger Woods
EA Sports is trying to promote their new Tiger Woods PGA game which features Augusta National Golf Club.  Great.  But they make a Tweet asking people to click “like” if they’ve pre-ordered the game.  The only problem is that there isn’t a like button on Twitter.  They’re confusing Twitter with Facebook.  DOH.
