According to “Life & Style” Ben Crane said of Tiger Woods, “he’s a phony and a fake” and that Elin knew of the affairs. Life & Style also quoted Charles Warren as saying Elin “had stars in her eyes and maybe dollar signs too.”
Problem
These quotes were gathered by the crack staff of Life & Style at the PGA Tour Qualifying tournament. One problem though, Crane finished 51st on the money list and has his tour card. He wasn’t at the qualifying tournament. Warren withdrew from the tournament before the final round.
“We sent an experienced freelance reporter to a golf tournament attended by several PGA pros. Our reporter spoke with two golfers who presented themselves as Ben Crane and Charles Warren. We are taking these claims very seriously and investigating further.” ~statement by Life & Style Magazine
The magazine declined to answer when asked if they had actual photos of the players they quoted.
“This is unbelievable. I never said a word about anything. They print this and put my name next to it. At that point, I was like, ‘OK, that’s the farthest thing from the truth. I didn’t realize I should be proactively calling you and (other journalists) until all of a sudden the tour called and said they wanted to run it (on television).” ~Ben Crane

Back in this post I touted my golf tan line. I personally think having a strong golf tan line around the ankles with white feet and tan legs, is cool. See my feet below left, after I’d been on the beach tanning for two days… I think a drastic golfer’s tan is a sign of a true golfer. But I can see how a lady golfer who wears some nice heels or shoes which expose her feet when not on the course needs to be sure her legs match her feet. For those people there’s a solution now. Solafeet is a device which tans just your feet.

California Representative Joe Baca made a statement today about pending Tiger Woods legislation he had proposed. In light of the recent events he will not be pursuing legislation to honor Tiger Woods for promoting good sportsmanship and breaking down barriers in golf.
Gatorade Tiger will be discontinued.
“We decided several months ago to discontinue Gatorade Tiger Focus along with some other products to make room for our planned series of innovative products in 2010. We hope to share more about our 2010 plans soon.” ~Gatorade officials
Not so fast
Before you jump to the conclusion that a Tiger sponsor is reacting to the recent events, this discontinuation was announced in “Beverage Digest” on November 25th, two days before the Tiger chaos officially began.
Obviously if this product was a big seller they wouldn’t be discontinuing it. I guess I’m not the only one who thought Gatorade Tiger lacked in the flavor department. See my review of Gatorade Tiger from August 21, 2008 here.
