TaylorMade has been busy. They signed Greg Norman earlier this week and now Rory “MoMoney” Sabbatini. Rory will play TaylorMade equipment and sport their head wear.
TaylorMade’s web site is nauseating
I just realized why I stopped going to TaylorMade’s web site. I thought I’d stop by there this morning to see if I could get some details on this endorsement deal. Then my morning was ground to a halt when all the fancy Adobe Flash “things” hit my screen and I had to wait for them to finish spinning around and making sound effects.
The flash work is really impressive, but I can’t stand it. Please give me a simple, fast loading web page which I can find what I’m looking for quickly. No more “loading…” or “skip intro” type of stuff. Where do I look for details about this endorsement deal when inside “the clubhouse?” Oh, wait I found it I think. Perhaps on the “lower level” in the “locker room”? Never mind, I got the “loading…” again. Adios.
A note to people who are considering making a web site or redesigning one:
The fancy Adobe Flash animations, sound effects, and things flying around your screen are only cool for two people…
1. The person who hired the Flash designer.
2. The Flash designer.
I’m really not sure what the hell is going on over there at TaylorMade/Adidas these days. I’ve been a fan of the gear for years now (even if my SuperQuad is the last TM club left in my bag), but as a company I think they may have completely jumped the shark. I’m not sure what’s worse, the impossible to navigate website, their comically verbose press releases, or their nasty habit of flooding the market with a couple dozen new drivers every year. Don’t even get me started on dressing Sergio…It never ends.
