Imitation is the highest form of flattery

imitationI have this cool feature in my admin section here that lets me see incoming links. This is nice because I can see who is linking to me. I then go check out their site. If I see something cool I’ll link back.

So I found a new incoming link this morning from The Sultan Of Swing Urban Golf Academy. Looks like a new golf blog. Cool! So I start checking out this blog and something looked strangely familiar there. Their blogroll is a carbon copy of mine! Their roll does have one more link in there: mine.

Memo to Sultan Of Swing: It is bad blog karma to hijack other blog posts or info and use it as your own. At the least you should credit the source. It would be even better to contact the other person to see if they are cool with using some of their data if it isn’t a straight link. I’ve done this many times with my pals at The Sand Trap, Golf Grouch, MJonGolf, Bogey Lounge etc.

I’m not pissed but I would have preferred an email asking if it would be cool to use my blogroll since it is one of the best and most complete golf blogrolls out there. 😉 I would certainly say yes in that situation.

Gee, parts of that read an awful lot like an AP story (like the one at: http://www.pga.com/news/tours/pga-tour/84lumber091805.cfm).

    Thieves!
