Playing golf in pure darkness – 1st tee of the 2011 Solstice Golfathon

I’ve just put a little video together from the first tee of Wednesday’s Solstice Golfathon.  See what it is like to play golf in complete darkness!  Warning, the video is basically black.  🙂

The 2011 Solstice Golfathon this past Wednesday was a full 17 hours of golf with a group of eight cool and crazy golfers who played 72 holes in four different states in one day.  It was an honor to be invited to play with these guys and I’ve made some great new friends. Personally, I’m happy to say I’ve just barely broken the massive heatstroke headache which came as a result of being exposed to extreme temperatures over 110 degrees for so many hours.

I’m going to be writing a feature story about the Solstice Golfathon for the Utah Golf Association’s Fairways Magazine as well as here on HOG, so stay tuned for those pieces!

    Insane but awesome!

Sounds like a great challenge. You could do that here in Anchorage, Alaska and still make happy hour. Local course opens at 5am, there is plenty of daylight already. Wouldn’t be able to to make 4 states, but you could play 4 courses, and have daylight to burn.

Perfect! I would feel so scared driving the cart. Flashlights are a must.

This is very neat! I have played with a glow in the dark ball, but they are not nearly as bright as the flashing ball. Looks like quite a time though!
