How Cars Float

Just yesterday this question crossed my mind: How do cars float?  The one thing I was most interested in regarding the production of a golf tournament or PGA Tour event, was figuring out how they made the cars float.  I thought perhaps they had some sort of scaffolding which extended to the bottom, but then I thought that wouldn’t work.

Low and behold I read a tweet from my good buddy Rob at Sandbox.com.  He’s covering the WGC Cadillac this week.  He shot a picture (right) of the crew setting up the floating cars in the lake at the Blue Monster in Doral.

Rob, thanks for answering this question which has tied my two celled brain in knots for years. Since you are psychic Rob, time for you to guess what question I’m wondering now…

One response to “How do cars float?”

  1. John Duval says:

Thick floating glass platforms just below the surface suspend the cars.
