I can’t keep a lid on this anymore. And after confirming my flights last night I’m now announcing that the biggest and coolest stop on the HOG World Tour is booked.
I’m going to St. Andrews.
I leave at the end of June and will be there for about a week. I will be playing golf with my best friend, and enlisting the caddy services of my good pal John Boyne (Boynie). I’m so excited I can’t even describe it. More to come.
Tony,
Sounds amazing. What kind of rain gear are you taking? I have been looking to buy a set, but don’t know what is good. I remember the debacle last year with the USA Ryder Cup team that was unhappy with Sun Mountain and had to switch out for ProQuip. Do you know if Sun Mountain’s problems were resolved? I did not see any equipment reviews for rain gear on your site.
Toad:
I think the Sun Mountain problem at the Ryder Cup wasn’t because the stuff didn’t work, it was because those huge letters “USA” were embroidered on the back and that compromised them.

I also have a great outer jacket by CBUK and I have a new FootJoy layering system I’m evaluating right now, with a short sleeve rain outer layer. VERY good stuff.
I have several pieces from Columbia which are amazing too:

Thanks much, Tony. The Micro-J sounds like a great thing to have in the bag, but I think they have stopped making it. Interested in hearing about the FootJoy stuff. Hope you are swinging again soon.
