I do wish they’d allow just ONE wild card spot for a 14-handicapper like me. Wouldn’t that be fun? I might even outscore one of the aged former champions. But I don’t suppose it’s worth petitioning the folks at Augusta until I’m into single figures at least?
I’ve give it a few more months, then. After that, I guess the easiest way in is definitely to win one of the big amateur tournaments – much easier than trying to get a tour card and then playing consistently enough on the pro circuit!
Wouldn’t it be great if they afforded an opening for the current AJGA champion? These kids are becoming outstanding golfers at a younger and younger ages. It would be such a thrill for them (and the fans) and their chances would just as good as someone like Craig Stadler.
