The Course Keeper is an extendable golf rake and ball retriever for those who would rather buy their own $60 rake then have to search around for one on the course.
Better than a regular old rake?
Funny you should ask that question. The Course Keeper extends to nine feet long for raking without having to step into the bunker. It also has ball scooper holes on the ends to use the unit as a ball retriever. A UV protected nylon cover protects the head, which folds for storage and transport. The nylon cover includes a ball marker, divot tool and extra tees. A cart bracket can mount the unit to a golf cart.
I think it is funny that my cover for my own personal $60 rake is UV protected, yet I seldom wear sunscreen. 🙂
Would the average golfer buy this?
Some courses are a little slim on rakes so I suppose if this is one of your courses then perhaps this unit is for you. But realistically, I don’t think a ton of individual people are going to buy a $60 rake which is fairly bulky to carry around, even with all the cool features it has and the way it folds.
What I DO see for this unit
I do envision this rake as standard issue on marshal carts. Marshals could quickly rake bunkers and shag balls.
Caddies my carry a Course Keeper to rake and retrieve balls for their loops.
I definitely see something like this for resorts or high end clubs where the club itself wants to equip all carts with a rake, rather than having rakes on the course. Not having rakes on the course can add to the aesthetic of the course and lessen time and expense for greenskeeping.
