I’ve got a neat set of golf cards from NURU which I keep in my bag and take with me when I travel. The NURU deck contains a bunch of great and simple golf tips and drills. If you have issues to resolve or need some pointers on golf drills, having a NURU deck handy would be a good idea.
On the course
One of my big flaws which appears when my swing starts to go bad is a total shift forward. Rather than turning around my spine or core, I tend to sway forward. That flaw caused me to miss 13 out of 18 greens last Thursday, and caused several green pieces of paper to exit my wallet and enter my opponent’s.
I found a drill in the NURU deck, “Avoid the hip shift,” which helped me get out of that rut by sticking a shaft in the ground and putting it just to the left of my left side. If I swayed, I’d hit the shaft. If I turned correctly, I’d wouldn’t. After implementing the drill, my round today saw 11 greens in regulation. This still isn’t a great stat, but it is a hell of a lot better than five.
Simple drills like the ones in the NURU deck can make a huge difference, prevent a swing breakdown, or correct a breakdown after it has occurred.
Conclusion
At a mere $10 for a deck, there’s 50X that in instruction you might get from your local pro. If you are looking for a unique golf gift for Chrismas or some other reason, a NURU golf deck would be a great option.
