Updated World Rankings – Rory McIlory Claims #1 Spot For 3rd Time

Rory McIlory Moves To #1 For 3rd Time

Fun weekend of golf to watch on TV. The Wells Fargo Championship ended in a three man playoff between Rory McIlory, Rickie Fowler and D.A. Points. On the first playoff hole Fowler (dressed in his trademark Sunday Puma traffic cone colors) hit a fantastic 51 degree wedge to four feet and made the birdie for the win. Fowler jumped up the world golf rankings from 39 to 24 with the win, while Rory McIlory attained the #1 ranking for a 3rd time with his tie for 2nd place.

Below is the updated table containing the updated top 50 ranked golfers in the world, also known as the “Official World Golf Ranking in the World” on the World Golf Ranking website.

Interesting to note in the table below, that only 20 of the top 50 golfers in the world are from the USA.
