I was surprised to see a link to this local story over on The Golf Blog. I’ve known about sheriff Kennard here in Salt Lake for a long time. I knew he was a golfer but what I didn’t know is that he was golfing while ON DUTY. He says that golfing on the job actually makes him do a better job because he’s more relaxed or some crap like that. Man what boss would take that explanation?
Boss: “Bob where’s that presentation?”
Bob: “I’m on the 12th green sir. I’m working on it.”
This sheriff is up for re-election too. I hope he loses. I’d feel safer if my sheriff was out catching bad guys rather than hitting the links.
The REST of the story
Now what The Golf Blog and the local new teams didn’t report is that this sheriff is a CHEATER. He’s a friggin’ sandbagger. He’s actually been banned from the country club I play at. He played the biggest tournament of the year up there a few years ago. When I say “biggest” I mean “the most big money, under the table bets among members.” The sheriff shot a “career round” and cost a lot of people some big money. That career round was one of those that is a 900,000/1 chance. Yeah, right.
Maybe if he pulls you over you could suggest a quick nine instead of a quick fine. Seems pretty win/win to me!
