Remember Adam Scott’s Players Championship victory? He knocked it in the water on 18 but still won.
Today in the Houston Open he went down to the wire with fellow Aussie Stuart Appleby. On his 18th tee shot he went in the drink left. Stuart Appleby was in the right fairway bunker and only had to knock it on the green and two putt for a win (or playoff) but went in the drink as well, following with some interesting commentary:
F-Bombs for Appleby
Appleby had a couple of stellar moments this week on live TV. Yesterday he pulled a tee shot on a par-3 into a greenside bunker. He then said “I’m f**ked.” In the video below (parental guidance suggested) he drops another F-bomb after pulling his approach on 18 into the water from the sand, and thus handing the win back to Adam Scott.
I don’t understand why people use unacceptable language. If you can’t say it in front of a preacher, then you’re better off not saying it because it’s just not polite. I know in my office, you can’t say that word. It seems to me that if you just never say it, then you don’t have to worry about where you are and who might be listening when you do say it. It simplifies a lot. And as for people on TV saying it, young fans won’t pick up any bad habits from the people they idolize.
